Inspired by the mysterious beauty of the night sky, the Nyx Vessel is an ode to the garden after dark. A nod to what emerges when the flowers fall into their nightly slumber and I look to the darkness above.
In Greek mythology, Nyx is the goddess and personification of the night. Akin to my Seed Vessel, the Nyx Vessel functions as both a floral frog and vase in one.
Made by hand from obsidian mid-fire stoneware, each vessel follows the same process but are distinctive in their own way. The inside is coated with a smooth glaze to make them watertight. Inspired by the surface of a meteorite, outer textural glaze is applied by hand with a brush, meant to evoke the other-worldy qualities of something that has traveled here from far beyond our world.
Measures approximately 5" tall by 5" wide.
Remove spent florals promptly. Hand wash for best care.
